Fighting Tiger Liberal is an action-packed brawling game that has more in common with PSX titles than most modern Android apps.
If you're looking for something that has all the fun you'd expect out of a Dreamcast or PlayStation 1 title, then Fighting Tiger Liberal might be for you. Jiin Feng is a software studio run by a Kung Fu instructor who also has a background in computer science, so the company did their best to make this game at least somewhat resemble real martial artistry.
While it still includes plenty of fantastical moves you wouldn't ever actually be taught in a real-life kwoon, Fighting Tiger Liberal should earn points with serious martial artists for following a real life fighting system.
Your player character is Gin, who is fighting to try and get out of the gang that's ruled his entire life. They've captured the love of his life and now want him dead for having sold them out.
He practices what's known as Liberal Kung Fu. As the name suggests, it's a combination of several real world styles. These include Sanda and Kai Men Baji Quan as well as a few other styles that the designer decided to mix in for good measure.
In many cases, it wouldn't be easy to play a game with so many features on a mobile device. Admittedly, it would help to have a proper controller or even support for a keyboard. However, Fighting Tiger Liberal has made the onscreen command list visible enough that you might not miss discrete buttons too much.
